The video shows the 16 sides of the four boxes to the camera meanwhile the story about their imagined content is displayed.
Narrative in the video
Chapter 1: Where do the boxes come from?
Peter told me that he has an old „wind measuring instrument" at home, maybe it is already broken but it may be useful for me.
An old „wind measuring instrument"... Although a broken one, I think I will certainly like it and even find a use for it. On Monday, on the stairs, I ask Peter when he can bring the thing along. Wednesday, he says.
On Wednesday at two o'clock in the afternoon, I arrive to the office and discover four big boxes beside my seat. I ask Arnaud what these things are and to whom they belong. He says he doesn't know. It looks like the thing inside the four boxes are the „wind measuring instrument" Peter told me about. It's about ten times bigger than I imagined it.
Chapter 2: How about the boxes?
Each box has about six sides, the material the boxes are made of seems to be wood. Every board is stitched to the others by nails. I can't definitely say for how long the wooden boards and the nails have been together, but I guess it has been quite a long time, because the rusty traces of the nails have spread everywhere. Maybe nobody has ever opened these boxes again since „wind measuring instrument" was last used, dissembled and packed into boxes. So, who else beside Peter, could know about the content of the boxes? Or maybe even Peter cannot tell if this thing inside the four boxes is really a "wind measuring instrument".
I have no tools on me to open the boxes with, so I try to break open a small crack with my hands to see what kind of things might be inside, but I really can't see anything. I imagine the kind of raw material I could see if I persist trying to open the box: iron, aluminium, plastic, wood and others. I imagine the kind of shapes I could see: spherical shapes, cube shapes, tube shapes and others.
Chapter 3: The boxes' dream
I carry the boxes on my back and I climb to a peak where the winds blow on all sides. The boxes are very heavy, the wind is very strong but nevertheless I reach the top of the mountain. On the top of the mountain I dig a two metre deep, two metre wide and two metre long pit. I put the boxes inside and then quietly cover them with earth and stones. Apart from me, nobody else knows that there are four boxes and inside them a "wind measuring instrument". The winds on the peak keep blowing and layer by layer the stones and the earth are moved aside. The boxes are once again discovered by the wind. Or it could be that they remain buried inside the earth and slowly decompose. First, the letters and the numbers on the boxes, like "4a" / "380174" / "14821370998" / "35534" / "Switzerland" / "3806327". Then, the wood begins to rotten. After this, the iron inside starts rusting, the aluminium begins oxidising and the plastic ages. They turn into earth and so are found again by the wind.
Chapter 4: Where are the boxes going?
"Boxes, boxes, please tell me quickly, where are you going?"
In any case, a box, which can't be opened does not exist. All the boxes had already been opened before they became boxes. Moreover, Bignia says even if you don't open them, she certainly will; and maybe she will bring them at home in Sternenberg as a "wind measuring instrument". Ai! I still can't decide whether I really want to open the four boxes or not. I don't know if Peter would regret if I never opened the four boxes. As the boxes new owner, am I able to decide the direction of the boxes? In the future, when they are opened, will it still be a "wind measuring instrument" inside?
